Community First Bank of Indiana Partners with Local Community Foundations During Community Banking Month

April 10, 2026 – April is Community Banking Month, a time to highlight the unique role community banks play in strengthening local economies by reinvesting deposits back into the neighborhoods and nonprofits they serve. In celebration, Community First Bank of Indiana (CFB) is launching a special checking account promotion designed to make a direct impact across Hamilton and Howard counties.

Now through May 2, for every new personal or business checking account opened at CFB’s Hamilton County or Howard County branches, the bank will donate $20 on the customer’s behalf to the Hamilton County Community Foundation or the Community Foundation of Howard County, respectively. The impact of each donation will be tripled through the Lilly Endowment GIFT IX matching program, turning every $20 contribution into $60.

Community foundations serve as permanent charitable resources for their counties, awarding grants to nonprofit organizations and supporting initiatives such as education, housing, childcare, social services, and workforce development. Through these partnerships, CFB is helping extend the reach of local philanthropy during a month dedicated to celebrating community banking.
