Jansen’s Taxphalt Receives $20,000 Elevate Small Business Grant from Community First Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis

March 12, 2026 – Jansen’s Taxphalt has received a $20,000 Elevate Small Business Grant through Community First Bank (CFB) and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) to support the purchase of a new work truck, strengthening the company’s ability to serve customers efficiently and reliably.

Founded in 1970, Jansen’s Taxphalt is a multi‑generational, family‑owned business with a long history of serving the Kokomo community. The company operates seasonally, providing tax preparation services in the winter through Jansen’s Tax Service and asphalt sealcoating during the summer months through Jansen’s Asphalt Sealing. Regardless of the season or service, the business is driven by the same core values: exceptional customer service, genuine care for people, and a commitment to serving others through their work.

The funding allowed Jansen’s Taxphalt to address critical equipment needs and continue delivering dependable service to its customers.

“This last summer, we faced some extensive issues with a couple of our work trucks. Thanks to Community First Bank and the Elevate Grant, we were able to replace one of our aging, failing trucks with one that is dependable and will help us as we serve our customers,” said Mark Jansen, owner of Jansen’s Taxphalt.

Elevate Small Business Grants are awarded annually by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis through its member financial institutions. Member institutions apply for the grant on behalf of their small business customers, and eligible businesses may receive up to $20,000 in funding to support growth and development initiatives across Indiana and Michigan.
