Note: This update reflects accurate information as of 3/15/21 at 12pm EST

The Treasury Department and the IRS have begun the process to deliver the third round of Economic Impact Payments.  The IRS has stated, “As with the first two Economic Impact Payments in 2020, most Americans will receive their money without having to take any action.”  For funds that will be delivered via direct deposit, March 17, 2021 is the official date that funds are scheduled to be available. You can check the status of your payment with the IRS Get My Payment Portal here.

For recipients who have not provided their bank account information for electronic payments, the government is expected to provide funds via Treasury-issued prepaid cards sent through the U.S. Postal Service. And, the third method that recipients may receive funds is via check, which could take weeks to arrive.

Be Alert for Fraud: Please be wary of any fraud that may occur regarding these payments. The government will not contact you by phone, email, or text regarding your Economic Impact Payment. If you suspect a scam, please contact us at 765-236-0600.
